Peter Rabbit

The character, Peter Rabbit™  features in The Tale of Peter Rabbit, a much-loved children's book by author Beatrix Potter. First published in 1902, it is one of the world's best-selling books in history. The story was inspired by Beatrix's childhood pet - a rabbit named Peter Piper. In her book, Peter is a mischievous rabbit who - against his mother's wishes - visits Mr McGregor's vegetable garden which lands him in a whole lot of trouble. The Tale of Peter Rabbit focuses on the real-life dangers of the adult world, and through the story and its beautiful illustrations, seeks to educate young readers that all actions have consequences. The author consequently wrote upwards of 20 more books; however, Peter Rabbit became her most recognised and best loved character. Peter Rabbit became her most recognised and best loved figures. He's one of the world's oldest licensed characters and the author's beautiful watercolour illustrations have been reproduced time and time throughout the decades. Our collection of nightwear, available exclusively at Childrensalon features a selection of the iconically British illustrations of Peter and his well-known friends including Jemima Puddle-Duck, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle and Benjamin Bunny.

Flower Fairies

The quintessentially British Flower Fairies™ illustrations were created by artist Cicely Mary Barker in 1923. With a distinct Art Deco design reflective of the era, the botanical drawings depict a different fairy associated with his or her own flower or plant belonging to spring, summer. autumn or winter. The fairies are tiny characters who live in treetops, forests and gardens and each one has a responsibility to look after their flora, which includes living and sleeping inside.
Fairies were often depicted in literature and art in the early part of the 20th century, however Cicely’s ink and watercolour designs have been cherished through generations. Our nightwear collection, exclusively available at Childrensalon features a beautiful selection of the seasonal characters.
