1. Chester

A quaint walled cathedral city, Chester is a lesser-known gem in the North of England. Boasting half-timbered houses and copious historical monuments, Chester is as charming as it is beautiful. Whether you are seeking a culture trip or a thrilling day out at the races, York has something for everyone. The city’s location also boasts close proximity to the idyllic Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Cotswolds – the perfect excuse for a change of scene.

5. Brighton and Hove

Notoriously fun, the vibrant seaside city of Brighton and Hove is a firm favourite with adults and children alike. Sitting on the coast, it boasts miles of pebble beach with culture and activities to boot. Browse the many art galleries or visit the Sea Life aquarium before heading to the Pier to enjoy rides for thrill-seekers of all ages. The Laines are the perfect spot for finding independent shops in a quaint setting and, for foodies, there are copious eateries to choose from while in town, from award-winning restaurants to snacks on the seafront.
